Poem: The Cold Kiss

           The Cold Kiss
A forehead warm and friendly
Why oh why, the need for change

Now quiet and missing, no reason or logic
Empty space, old things crowd your spaces

We who have felt the warmth, the goodness
Have no need for this cold brown makeup

Gone, the chance to make you proud
Remembered, the feeling of time together

This cold kiss, so dark and clammy
Be gone, bring back my father
